C&N Contractors contracted with the Springfield Masonic Community to perform campus-wide masonry restoration including to the one pictured above, the historic Castle Bushnell. The work included cleaning all vertical masonry surfaces with high pressure water and environmentally safe detergent. All deteriorated mortar joints were then painstakingly cut out and removed by hand, followed by tuck-pointing with new mortar meticulously color matched to the original. In addition to the tuck-pointing work, stones which had broken and deteriorated were patched with Jahn Stone Patch to match the original stone.
