C & N Contractors was selected as general contractor for the historical Springfield Burying Grounds project also known as Columbia Street Cemetry project. Work included stonework that runs along Columbia Street and an arched entry way for entrance to the cemetery. Additional work installing custom fencing to protect the cemetery’s perimeter and to pave the existing walkways to improve accessibility for visitors. The completion of the project undertaken enhanced the functionality, security, and overall aesthetics of the cemetery.
The careful integration of landscaping elements has created a peaceful and reflective environment. The project has been well-received by the community, as it demonstrates a commitment to providing a respectful and accommodating final resting place for loved ones. The cemetery is the resting place of Mr. James Demint, founder of Springfield OH. In addition, the cemetary is also the burial ground for some individuals that served in the Revolutionary War. All work was completed to ensure that no individual burial sites were disrupted during the renovation process.
